Have you ever heard of acid supplements? What about EAAs? EAA stands for essential amino acids. There are 20 amino acids, and our bodies are actually able to make 11 of them. Of the 20, 9 of the amino acids are essential. (1) EAAs are necessary to the body’s functions. EAA supplements combine some or all of these essential acids to make it easy to get into people’s diets. EAAs can help with a variety of health-related functions. One of these functions is metabolism and energy. Some of the amino acids prevent things that kill cells and prevent their functions relating to metabolism. As a result, energy is balanced. When this happens, the body is able to regulate better and there are changes in weight and fat mass. (3)

Protein, Muscles, & Athletics

Another benefit EAAs give is helping in protein synthesis. (4) That is how cells make proteins. This allows the body to prevent some muscle loss. Some people take EAA before or during certain exercises to help with that. It is also able to help improve athletic performance and help with tissue repair.

Mood & Sleep

EAAs also have the ability to give better sleep. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t want that? It can also improve mood. One of the EAAs, tryptophan, is known to lower anxiety-levels and balance mood. It can help raise serotonin levels, which can lead to feeling happier and more balanced and to better sleep. (5)

EAAs have a lot of great benefits that contribute to the body’s overall health and wellbeing. They also help the body function properly. It is important to get enough EAAs!
