🥨Happy Pretzel Day🥨This homemade soft pretzel recipe is both healthy and delicious! Plus, it goes great with a creamy cheese sauce, which you can make at home with our very own Pantry White Cheddar Cheese Powder!


Ingredients

  • ⅛ cup Nutricost’s vanilla whey protein powder
  • 2 1/2 tsp yeast
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/8 cup Nutricost vanilla whey protein
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/3 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 F. Lay a piece of parchment paper down onto a baking sheet. Set aside.
  2. Pour yeast, water, and sugar into a mixer bowl and gently combine. Let it sit for about 15-20 min till foam begins to form.
  3. In a separate bowl, add all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, salt, and butter. Mix until combined.
  4. Once the yeast mixture is ready, turn on the mixer once again and slowly pour flour mixture into the mixing bowl. Pretzel dough is ready when the dough is no longer sticky.
  5. Sprinkle flour onto a clean counter and knead dough, then separate into 6 small balls of equal size.
  6. Take each dough ball and shape it into a pretzel shape. Set aside.
  7. Place all pretzels on parchment paper.
  8. In a separate bowl, create an egg wash by whisking 1-2 large eggs. Coat each pretzel with the wash and sprinkle coarse sea salt on top (optional).
  9. Bake pretzels in the oven for 10-13 min.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
