These Delicious 4th of July Recipes Will Have Everyone Begging for Seconds

Whether you're firing up the grill, loading up a plate of sides, or just here for the s'mores, we’ve got the goods. These 4th of July recipes are smoky, sticky, sweet, and seriously satisfying—perfect for feeding a crowd or just making your backyard feel like the best seat in the country.

Grilled BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with Tangy Slaw

Featuring: Nutricost Date Sugar or Allulose (optional)

Chicken:

  • 2–2.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs

  • Salt + pepper

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)

  • Optional: Add 1 tbsp Nutricost Date Sugar or Allulose to sweeten up store-bought sauce

Slaw:

  • 3 cups shredded cabbage (or coleslaw mix)

  • 1/4 cup mayo

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp honey or sweetener of choice

  • Salt + pepper to taste

Assembly:

  • Toasted sandwich buns

  • Pickles (optional but recommended)

Instructions:

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper, and brush with olive oil.

  2. Grill over medium-high heat for 5–6 minutes per side until fully cooked. Brush with BBQ sauce during the last few minutes.

  3. While chicken grills, mix slaw ingredients in a bowl and chill.

  4. Slice or shred chicken and pile onto toasted buns with slaw and pickles.

  5. Serve hot and sticky—just like summer should be.

Sweet & Smoky Baked Beans with Bacon

Featuring: Nutricost Date Sugar or Demerara Sugar (optional)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (15 oz) navy or pinto beans, drained

  • 4 slices bacon, chopped

  • 1/2 onion, finely diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard

  • 2 tbsp Nutricost Date Sugar or Demerara Sugar

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt + pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet, cook chopped bacon until crisp. Remove and set aside.

  2. In the bacon fat, sauté onion and garlic until soft.

  3. Add all remaining ingredients (including beans and bacon) to a baking dish and stir to combine.

  4. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 40–45 minutes, until thick and bubbly.

  5. Serve hot or warm—ideally on a paper plate next to something grilled.

Protein-Boosted Peanut Butter S’mores Dip

Featuring: Nutricost Organic Peanut Butter Powder

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Nutricost Peanut Butter Powder

  • 1/4 cup water or milk of choice (to make a thick PB paste)

  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

  • 1/2 cup marshmallow fluff or mini marshmallows

  • Graham crackers for dipping

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, stir together the peanut butter powder and liquid to form a smooth paste.

  2. In an oven-safe dish, layer chocolate, peanut butter mixture, and marshmallow fluff.

  3. Bake at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, until hot and gooey.

  4. Serve immediately with graham crackers and zero shame.
