Nutricost Beef Gelatin Powder

This is a large tub of smooth gelatin powder. It has almost no taste or smell, and not much texture either. It basically disappears into anything you add it to, with no impurities adding off tastes or gritty textures. I've been mostly using it in soups, and sometimes I barely notice it at all. Not much more to say about it, it acts like pure gelatin powder should. And as a bonus, it comes with its own little scoop.

This product comes in a large 2 lb tub. The recommended dosage is 1 scoop (1 tbs) which is included. Take it with 6 to 8 ounces of water or beverage of your choice. It has 9 grams of protein. It is unflavored so you really don't taste it. It does mix well, best mixed with cold water or other beverage. So far I have used it to thicken chili and it really worked well. It is also good for smoothies for that extra nutritional boost.

I've not tried to make any gummies or other similar uses to this gelatin powder, so I can only review it based on mixing it into some pudding, smoothies, and other bakery desserts. In all previously mentioned uses, this has been fantastic. I used a frother to mix it in, except for the smoothie, and it mixes very well. No grittiness or otherwise notable texture, plus you can't taste it at all. I've also gave some to cats for a protein boost in some chicken broth and they drink it up.

In my (limited) experience, there's not much difference between bulk gelatin powders. This particular cannister of gelatin has a large open mouth that makes scooping easy, and it comes with a one tablespoon scoop that I've been regularly using to add some protein to my ramen. I've been pleased with the order and don't have any reservations about recommending.

This is a good standard form of beef gelatin. It can be used in any way that any other gelatin can be used. Although it is made from beef, it does not alter foods to smell or taste like beef. Gelatin is a good addition to anything from soups to drinks. Of course fruity gelatins desserts are the most traditional use. I like being able to use this and alternative sweeteners for those types of desserts. I also like adding this to fruity smoothies as an additional source of protein. I am not a fan of protein powder and this offers an option that can have similar benefits with a different texture and flavor. I also eat a low carb diet, so having different ways to thicken sauces and soups is great. There are innumerable recipes that use beef powdered gelatin as an ingredient. I have made this a staple of my kitchen and I would recommend it to anyone!
