This whey protein really surprised me in a very positive way. What I liked the most is that it actually tastes like juice, not like a heavy traditional whey. You can mix it just with water and it already tastes great, no need to use milk at all. I usually mix it with about 10 oz of water and it’s ready to drink, super easy and practical, especially when I want something quick. The flavor is really good, refreshing, and even without sugar it already tastes sweet enough. I don’t feel the need to add any sweetener, it literally tastes like a juice. I thought that was amazing and much easier to drink, especially if you don’t like thick protein shakes. The amount of protein per serving is very good, 20g of protein, low calories, zero added sugar and it’s gluten free. It mixes really well when you use a shaker bottle or one of those cups made for mixing. The only small detail is that if you try to mix it just with a spoon, you might get some little clumps, so using a shaker is definitely the best way to dissolve it completely.

I’ve been seeing more clear whey protein powders lately and was drawn to them because they’re lighter in texture and flavor than traditional shakes (thick chocolate or strawberry can feel heavy). This has been perfect for me as a before-bed protein so I don’t wake up ravenous. I chose Nutricost for two reasons: 1. It’s been a trusted supplement brand of mine for years—I’m very picky about quality. 2. The Berry Blast flavor looked irresistible, and I’m a sucker for fun, nostalgic flavors.

Only negative thing for me is it is too sweet, so I basically tripled the amount of water it calls for - which isn't really a bad thing. Just about everything has some artificial or “naturally derived” sugar in it, this one has Sucralose in it which for me is more tolerable than the Reb A/M and stevia additives out there. No weird aftertaste; it actually tastes like a melted popsicle! I used a frother to mix it, which worked well, The added protein is a huge plus. I will definitely be buying again. I also highly recommend the unflavored whey protein by this same brand - I add it to my coffee and it’s undetectable. Love this brand!
